La Vue Waterfront Restaurant is seeking a talented and passionate Chef with at least five years’ experience to work alongside and report directly to our Chef de Cuisine, contributing to the creation of unforgettable fine dining experiences.

The Role

As a Chef, you’ll play a key role within our kitchen brigade, supporting the Chef de Cuisine and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. This role is suited to a skilled professional who thrives in a fine-dining environment and is committed to precision, teamwork, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute dishes to fine-dining standards with consistency and attention to detail
  • Work alongside the Chef de Cuisine to execute refined dishes with precision and consistency.
  • Take responsibility for mise en place and service within your assigned section
  • Uphold strict food safety, hygiene compliance standards
  • Monitor portion control, stock rotation, and waste minimisation
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service
  • Provide guidance to junior chefs and apprentices when required
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance the dining experience

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fine dining or high-end restaurants
  • Strong knowledge of French and contemporary Australian cuisine
  • Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Current food safety certification
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification is required
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellence
  • Passion for gastronomy and dedication to the fine dining experience
  • Australian work rights are essential for this position

Working Hours & Conditions

  • Full-time position
  • Evening and weekend availability essential
  • Split shifts with structured breaks
  • Consecutive rostered days off where possible

An immediate start is required for this position.
